Featuring Clara’s fables

Made by Clara

Introduction: after dinner, me and my daughter on the bed. Under the light of my latop, me; under the light of a book, her.

“Why don’t we write a fable?”she said breaking the silence.

So she started telling, I started writing down, following her voice.

This is the first. One for every monday, as for a new week needs an enchanted and fresh start. As for children need to express their creativity.

My dear old grandpa is really stinking.

His kingdom is made completely with socks. Stinking ones.

There are so many, scattered all over his room, you barely can imagine the colour of the briquettes on the floor.

The majority of those socks are punctured because my grandpa usually pull them along is leg as if he has lost the elastic band.

But what my grandpa lost is his tenderness. This is why his socks stinks so much: so he step people back making them not to be aware of his secret.

Every time he comes back home from work, he walks all over the house with his punctured socks looking for his slippers, he does not find them ever because they are buried under his personal cotton -made- in-the shape-of-socks-layer.

He likes playing cards and he promises anybody asking him to play it, soon after dinner, when he sits on his green velvet armchair in the middle of his kingdom. He always falls asleep and snores.

No one can wake him up

I am the one knowing how to that: I put the cards in his hands sprinkling on his face some cold water.

And more, I discovered another way to wake him up

One evening I tried to put a socks into his nose and he woke up with a start for its extreme stink, nodding his big head asking where he was.

I hide out to see what he would do.

And i saw him open up the drawer of his night table.

In his hands a make-your-stinking-socks-disappear spray appeared.

One spray all around in his kingdom and it turns out his sock are still there. Stubborn ones.

So that, grandpa decides to make the laundry but he uses too much washing powder and socks are deteriorating: a stinking bubble comes out from that washing spreading into the whole house, infesting it with that smell.

And more, socks are regenerating and keep going to pour out their stink on my grandpa clothes.

As I said I assisted this show while I was hiding behind the curtains and I had the time to drawn up a plan.

I took mommy’s perfume and sprinkled it on grandpa’s clothes and all around the house.

Some socks now are smelling like violet, but I needed a huge quantity of perfume to dissolve that stink. So that I took the vanilla air fresheners, I wore my Little Wonder Woman costume and flayed all around the house sprinkling in every and hidden spaces of the house.

Once for all, socks disappeared and in the end all the coloured tiles came back to light.
