hands, words, wings. I took the picture

We followed
the contour
of the hands.
Yours, smaller.
Mine, bigger.

A red cardboard
to bring
silver words
into a suspended afternoon
of a winter delaying to come.

LOVE
HOPE
JOY
FORGIVENESS
FAITH
PERSISTENCE
STRENGTH

Those hands
now are adorning
a piece of the world
we call home.

From below up
to observe them,
they seem
wings
to fly free
where they will want to,
as butterflies,
wild and delicate.
